Prize submissions are invited from emerging artists of Asian heritage or origin for work from across all disciplines
Applications for the K11 Art Foundation (KAF) Artist Prize close on November 15, 2026
The K11 Art Foundation (KAF), Hong Kong, has announced an open call for the second edition of the K11 Art Foundation (KAF) Artist Prize, which is designed to champion the work of emerging artists of Asian heritage or origin, and connect them with art institutions around the world.
Artists with five to ten years of practice have until November 15, 2026, to submit applications, in which the prize’s organizers are seeking “exceptional originality, critical depth, and contemporary relevance … across all disciplines, media, and forms of contemporary artistic practice”. The recipient of the prize will be chosen by the K11 Art Foundation (KAF) International Council, chaired by Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, President of the Turin-based Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo. The winning artist will be offered an exhibition or KAF public program, a residency at a cultural institution, curatorial and critical mentorship, and the opportunity to connect with KAF’s international network.
The inaugural winner of the prize, in 2024, was Xin Liu, a London-based Chinese artist with a practice that embraces multiple technologies from satellites to neural networks and addresses the outcomes, and detritus, of scientific endeavor. The prize, Xin Liu said in a press statement, was a “pivotal moment” for her work, providing her with “an exceptional global platform and institutional presentations that expanded the reach of my practice”.
After winning the prize, Xin Liu was featured in a K11 Salon conversation at Serpentine Gallery, London, with the gallery’s Artistic Director, Hans Ulrich Obrist, in October 2024, and supported by K11 in residencies at Delfina Foundation and Somerset House Studios, both in London. “Exhaust”, the artist’s first solo show in Italy, was presented by Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, in collaboration with K11 Art Foundation, from April 15 to October 11, 2026.
