Our space has some beautiful qualities but many bad traits as well.
One of the negative ones is something most people pretend like it never happens but it’s one of the big reasons, in my view, as to why this space is being held back.
Our space loves gossiping and drama, that’s not debatable. It’s something that has always been part of the cryptocurrency space as well, with all the scams, debates and screwups sometimes happening on a daily frequency (which to an extent is normal, especially when something new is still in the “wild west” stage). What really annoys me though is how so many people dislike others privately but publicly they will even call them their friends.
How can a space move forward when, the tiny amount of people who are part it, try and tear each other down constantly behind closed doors?
Again, criticism is good, but this isn’t about that. It’s about the egoistical tendencies many people have to prove they’re better than the rest at what they are doing. This ranges from artists to collectors and everything in between.
Instead of working side by side, many view everything like it’s a competition and the top can only fit them, no one else.
I hope as we expand this tendency many exhibit today will end being a minority.
